I am Pradeep Kumar B S from Karnataka during the pandemic it was big challenge for me to reach the students in the beginning. I went door to door to reach the students, when I visited to students some of the parents supported me and gave all the cooperation but some of the parents directly said me to not to come to house. Later Karnataka Government introduced Vidyagama program, according to that I was said to take classes only a group of students who had Android mobile and able to attend online classes. I created WhatsApp group according to the classes, And started to post the worksheets in WhatsApp with instruction. I collected those worksheets from Pinterest app. Even I helped my colleagues to prepare the worksheets.
Whatever work I gave the students many of responded well but 4 to 5 students did not response me, therefore I planed to meet the students in temple which was near to all the students. Everyday the student came to the temple at fixed time and involved in learning .
The very first day I felt lot of difficulty to have the class in temple. There were many problems like cleanness, maintenance of social distance, there were no toilets. However the days went i felt the temple was comfortable.
One of the students sent me a voice message that she would never come to temple thereafter because her parents did not ready to to send her to temple due to pandemic. As soon as possible I received her voice message I called to her father but the call was received by her mother who was illiterate and she did not understand what I said to her. Then I planed to go to her home and visited her home nearly four to five times but I was not able to speak with her father who was always went to work, so I visited to her home on Sunday to meet her father and convince him to send her to the temple to continue her studies. On Sunday when I visited her home after speaking with her father I was shocked because her father and mother both interested to send her to the temple to study but her friends forced her to not to go. Therefore without bringing notice to her parent she took her father's mobile and she sent me the voice message in which she said her father said her to not to go to the temple to study, but the reality was different. After coming to know the truth I convinced her and I inspired then after she was regular student, she was active participator in all the activities.
During the pandemic I spent numbers of hours in front of computer preparing the worksheet to the students. To improve the listening skill of the students I started the YouTube channel which named as Moral Maatu , in this YouTube channel the students started to getting interesting inspirational stories which I prepared very carefully for them.
During the pandemic I faced many challenges one of was I live in Davangere and the school located nearby village which is the distance of 20 kilometres, during the pandemic there were no buses to reach the school so I decided to go by my bike but my family members did not allow me to go to school by bike due to the fear of accidents. But I convinced them and promised them that i did not ride the bike faster than 35 kilometres speed.
If there is another pandemic I will face successfully, because I learnt many things, and faced many difficulties and got solutions to handle pandemic easily.
